Find a researcher

In Australia research on volunteering is diverse, multidisciplinary and expanding. In accord with its mission Volunteering Australia supports this network by providing a database of researchers on volunteering. This database forms the third element of Volunteering Australia’s information and research services, the other two being the library and information service and the Australian Journal on Volunteering.

In 2001 a national consultation by the IYV National Community Council of Advice led to the development of A national agenda on volunteering: beyond the international year of volunteers. Current and ongoing research is necessary in order to realise the demands of this agenda.

Volunteering Australia, in recognition of the research on volunteering has developed the Volunteering Research Framework.

The establishment of this database highlights the interest and diversity by researchers in volunteering.

The aims of this database are:
1. To highlight the depth and diversity of research into volunteering and related topics or fields in Australia
2. To identify current research projects, trends and contemporary publications on volunteering
3. To provide a connection between not for profit organisations and researchers on volunteering
