Skills and training - for volunteers

Good quality, appropriate training and skills development for volunteers is something which Volunteering Australia champions.  It is the primary focus of the National Volunteer Skills Centre (NVSC) project and has long been one of our priority areas of work.

As a volunteer, you have the right to be provided with sufficient training to do your job, a right which is enshrined in one of our foundation documents, Volunteer Rights and Volunteer Checklist.  It is our goal to make this right a reality for all volunteers, and, over time, work with the volunteering sector to ensure that training for volunteers is more than just ‘sufficient’.  The bottom line for us is this:  if we can improve the quality of training for volunteers, everyone in the sector will benefit.

This goal underpins the development of all our resources and services, a number of which are tailored especially for you, as a volunteer.  To access these, click on the links in the table, below.  To receive updates on new resources and information, please register.
