Dealing with conflict and grievances when managing volunteers
Dealing with conflict and grievances when managing volunteers:
This subject guide is designed to address issues that may lead to conflict with volunteers. Volunteering Australia recommends that all not-for-profit organisations invest time, energy and resources to prevent problems arising.
We also recommend that organisations develop transparent systems to deal with volunteer workplace conflict if it unfortunately occurs.
University of Colorado at Boulder, Conflict Information Consortium, http://conflict.colorado.edu/This website offers a number of resources as well as research on solving conflict. While the resources were not designed to specifically meet the needs of volunteers, they offer numerous ways to deal with conflict when it does arise. From the site you will find links to projects: - The Conflict Resolution Information Source www.CRinfo.org - The Intractable Conflict Knowledge Base Project www.Beyondintractability.org
