We need your feedback…

Have your say about the National Standards for Involving Volunteers in Not for Profit Organisations.

The National Standards for Involving Volunteers in Not for Profit Organisations (the National Standards) are being revised, along with the accompanying support materials. This project started in 2009 when Volunteering Australia undertook Phase 1 and published the findings of the initial consultation in June 2009. In 2014, the National Standards Working Group (composed of representatives from State and Territory volunteer peak bodies) commenced Phase 2 to complete the process of reviewing the National Standards.

This project has incorporated the findings from the 2009 consultation and will:

  • Review the content of the National Standards
  • Develop evidence guides and self-assessment tools to assist organisations wanting to meet the Standards
  • Identify and assess options for providing proof of compliance to organisations that meet the National Standards

A Project Reference Group, with sector representatives from each State and Territory, is guiding the work of the project and provide advice on issues and options.

We’d like to know your thoughts on the National Standards and how they can best work for your organisation. A consultation process is now underway to inform the drafting of the revised Standards and your input and comment is important to this review process.  You can do this by taking a few minutes to complete a short online survey. We suggest that you read the Consultation Paper before commencing the survey. Click this link for the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/volunteeringstandards

The survey will remain open until 7 November 2014.

There will also be some consultation sessions being run by State and Territory volunteer peak bodies: watch out for information about these.
