VA Annual General Meeting

Volunteering Australia (VA) held its Annual General Meeting at Allens Linklaters, Sydney on October 31, 2016.

Key outcomes of the VA Annual General and Board Meeting included:

The VA Executive positions were confirmed as follows:
· Tim Jackson – President
· Michelle Ewington- Vice President
· Valerie Hoogstad- Secretary
· Peter Lucas – Treasurer

Presentation and endorsement of the 2015-2016 Annual Report.

Celebration of significant achievements over the past year, including the release of the new Definition of Volunteering, the State of Volunteering Report 2016, the very successful 2016 National Volunteering Conference, the increased engagement and exposure of National Volunteer Week and our increased engagement on relevant policy issues at a Commonwealth Government level.

VA’s acknowledgement and appreciation for the continued strong collaboration and united effort of VA and the State and Territory Peaks to advance volunteering in a period of continued, challenging fiscal and political uncertainty. VA’s achievements during 2015-16 reflects the significant proactive and construction contributions by the State/Territory Peaks on several key programs and projects of national significance.

VA paid tribute to retiring directors Jane Hayden and David Morrison for their service on the VA Board.

After reflecting on VA’s achievements in 2015-16 the VA Board looked to the future with the VA2020 Strategic Plan nearing completion and we anticipate will be endorsed by the end of 2016.
