Senate to vote on Welfare Bill

The Social Services Legislation Amendment (Welfare Reform) Bill 2017 will be voted on in the Senate this week. The Bill proposes to change the Annual Activity Requirements for people on income support aged 55 to 59.

Volunteering Australia is strongly opposed to this Bill. We remain concerned about the impact that the proposed amendment will have on people on income support aged 55 to 59, and the volunteering sector.
