Meet Wieslawa, a dedicated volunteer with Kindness Shake, Darwin Festival, Inspired NT, and more — sharing her story as part of our ‘Share Your Story’ series.
Discovering the Joy of Volunteering
“I discovered the significance of giving back and found enjoyment in volunteering — something I had not experienced before.”
For Wieslawa, volunteering has been a transformative part of her life in Australia. By giving her time to causes that make a real difference, she’s formed deep connections and found new meaning in everyday moments.
“Volunteering with many organisations has allowed me to connect with the community and give back to causes that make a real difference. This has strengthened my belief that happiness truly flourishes in relationships, health, and acts of kindness.”
Celebrating Culture and Community
Since moving to Australia, Wieslawa has developed a strong interest in learning about different cultures. Volunteering has opened the door to rich cross-cultural experiences and new friendships.
“Volunteering has given me valuable opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and to experience a range of cultural traditions and cuisines.”
She’s especially grateful for the spirit of inclusion she’s encountered across the Northern Territory.
“I have been touched by the warmth, kindness, openness, and generosity of people in the Northern Territory, who consistently welcome others with warmth and a strong sense of community.”
