About Kimberley Doyle

Kimberley Doyle has made a significant contribution to Special Olympics Mackay Fire and Special Olympics Queensland through years of dedicated volunteer leadership and advocacy.

Joining as Chair in 2014 before transitioning to mentor and Special Olympics Queensland Chair in 2023, Kimberley has helped expand opportunities for athletes across multiple sports and communities.

Her contributions include expanding powerlifting across three states, introducing table tennis and bocce to Mackay Fire, and building strong relationships with local businesses to support sponsorship and fundraising efforts. Through the Containers for Change program, she has helped secure more than $10,000 in funding to support local initiatives.

Kimberley’s advocacy has also helped prevent the introduction of a proposed athlete accreditation fee that would have significantly impacted community fundraising efforts.

Committed to inclusion and accessibility, Kimberley has supported virtual Kung Fu Form and Tai Chi sessions through her work with Kung Fu Wushu Queensland, helping create opportunities for broader participation and connection.

Her leadership extends beyond local initiatives, including organising a performance at the World Down Syndrome Congress in Brisbane and facilitating sports events that promote inclusion, awareness and community participation.

Kimberley has been recognised as a State Volunteer of the Year recipient and is a finalist for the inaugural Australian Volunteer of the Year Award, presented during National Volunteer Week.
