2012 State of Volunteering in Australia
International Year of Volunteers 2001 was a time of opportunity and optimism in volunteering. The National Agenda on Volunteering mapped what the volunteering sector saw as the objectives for the future and what needed to be achieved. Ten years on the 2012 State of Volunteering in Australia reviewed what volunteering looked like in Australia in 2011, what progress had been made against each of the objectives set in the National Agenda on Volunteering in 2001, what remained to be achieved and suggested actions to focus our energies as we move forward. The report was informed by Volunteering Australia’s National Survey of Volunteering Issues and the findings of consultation and research undertaken by a wide range of organisations.
