Volunteers are at the heart of communities across Australia, showing up in ways that connect, support and strengthen the people and places around them.

Through State and Territory Volunteer of the Year awards, individuals and organisations are recognised for their contribution at a local level. These recipients are then brought together as nominees for the inaugural Australian Volunteer of the Year Award, creating a national moment of recognition.

Presented during National Volunteer Week at Government House, the award highlights the diversity and impact of volunteering across the country, while acknowledging the collective contribution of volunteers in every community.
